It really bothers me sometimes when I tell somebody a character(s) of mine is/are gay and they’re baffled. I ask why that is and apparently it’s because the character(s) in question doesn’t/don’t “act” gay.
Which is kinda weird I was under the impression being gay made you no different…

Never really understood that either.
That Itself is a trope, like in a 90’s sitcom. I think people sometimes would rather have things pointed out to them, then having to figure things out. I have gay/Bi/lesbian characters, It is only part of them. They are not there to be a gay stereotype.They are there for what they do and how they get it done.
If we have to have It clear of a character’s gender to the point of having to as you said “Put a bright neon sign on them.” then It ruins the point of trying to treat everyone the same when we are told character of a sexuality/race/ or gender must ask as seen fit. Otherwise their brains somehow overlord. So females must be sexualized, men must have muscle or be fat, Black people must say the N word 20x and gays must be as clear a bomb in a china shop.
This is why we must push for us to become the next era of story tellers, Otherwise this cycle will not end. We must push out the low brow and make a stander, some kind..ANY kind better then we got now. Where people like maryers or Bay can make their garbage.

Finally, it’s done.
My first year project for university. I know it’s short, but, god, it took way longer than I thought it would. Worth it though.
I did the background, music/sound, character design, some inbetweening animation and colouring the animation.
My partner handled a great deal of the animation itself, since I was working on the backgrounds a great deal of the time, so he went ahead and practically animated the whole dam thing. I owe him a drink.
